Free RAMS template & generator
Looking for a free RAMS template? Skip the blank Word documents. Describe your job and get a complete, site-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement — with real hazards, practical control measures, and a step-by-step method of work. Download as a professional PDF, ready to hand over (add your company branding on Pro).
A RAMS generator helps you turn the risk assessment and method statement into a written document. You still review the hazards and controls because you know the site. The tool gets the first draft out of your head and into a format the client or PC can check.

What your RAMS looks like
Three steps. No jargon. No blank forms.
Type what you are doing in plain English. "Two-storey rear extension, timber frame, 8 weeks, three of us on site." That is enough. You can also talk into your phone — The Site Book transcribes and extracts the details automatically.
A complete RAMS is built from your job description. Hazards specific to your trade, control measures that actually make sense for your site, a method statement that follows your sequence of work, PPE requirements, emergency procedures — all pre-filled and ready to review.
Review what has been created, make any tweaks you want, and download a professional PDF (add your company branding on Pro). Hand it to your client, send it to the principal contractor, or keep it on file. A structured first draft is ready for review.
Every section you need for a clear, professional Risk Assessment and Method Statement — pre-filled from your job description.
Your project address, client details, site description, and key dates — all pulled from your job description.
Every significant hazard for your specific job, with likelihood and severity ratings before and after controls.
Practical, site-specific control measures that follow the hierarchy of controls — not vague statements, but actions you can actually take.
A clear sequence of work from site setup to completion, with safety considerations built into each step.
The personal protective equipment required for each activity, based on the hazards identified for your job.
Site-specific emergency information including nearest A&E, first aid arrangements, and evacuation procedures.
Professional sign-off sections for you and your workers, ready to print or sign digitally.
The generator adapts to your specific trade and job description. Here are some of the most common trades our builders use it for:
Working in a trade not listed here? The generator handles any construction activity. Describe what you are doing and the relevant hazards and control measures are identified for your specific work.
You have probably seen free RAMS templates online. They give you a blank Word document with headings and maybe some example text. The problem? Every site is different. A ground-floor extension in clay soil has different hazards to a loft conversion in a Victorian terrace. A generic risk assessment template does not know that.
A free RAMS template also leaves you guessing. Which hazards apply? What control measures should you list? What does the method statement template actually need to say? You end up copying and pasting from old documents or making it up. If the HSE, a client, or a principal contractor looks at it, a generic copy-paste RAMS may not explain the real job or its controls.
The Site Book’s RAMS generator reads your job description and builds a document that is specific to your project. The hazards match your trade. The control measures are practical and achievable. The method statement follows the actual sequence of work you described. It is a site-specific first draft for your competent review, not a blank template to fill in from scratch.
