Dropbox integration: export your RAMS and site documents straight to Dropbox
The Site Book now works with Dropbox. Export the latest RAMS, Construction Phase Plan and COSHH PDFs from any project into its own Dropbox folder, on Pro and above.

TL;DR
The Site Book now connects to Dropbox on Pro and above. Connect it once, attach it to your company, and click Export to Dropbox on a project to send the latest generated RAMS, CPP and COSHH PDFs to that project's own folder. It only ever sees its own app folder in your Dropbox, it never replaces an existing file, and documents still waiting for approval stay out.
If your office files already live in Dropbox, your site paperwork can now go there too. With the new Dropbox integration, The Site Book connects to Dropbox on Pro and above: click Export to Dropbox on a project and the latest RAMS, Construction Phase Plan and COSHH PDFs land in that project's own folder, ready to share with a principal contractor, a client or your own office.
We built it because Google Drive was never the whole picture. Plenty of builders, and plenty of the principal contractors they work for, run their filing on Dropbox. Asking them to keep a second set of folders just to hold the safety paperwork was the kind of double handling The Site Book is meant to remove.
What the Dropbox integration does
From any project, one button sends the latest generated version of each document to Dropbox:
RAMS — the current risk assessment and method statement for the job.
Construction Phase Plan — the latest generated CPP.
COSHH assessments — the project's current COSHH PDFs.
Each company gets its own folder, and each project gets its own subfolder named after the job and its site address, so a folder never mixes two jobs — even two jobs with the same name. Run the export again whenever documents change: an unchanged document is not copied twice, and a newer version arrives alongside the old one as its own file.
It is an on-demand export rather than a live sync. You decide when the paperwork leaves The Site Book, which is usually the moment you want to hand a pack over.
Your Dropbox stays yours
Three things we were careful about, because a folder full of client paperwork is not something a tool should be careless with:
It only sees its own folder. The Site Book asks Dropbox for access to its own app folder (normally Apps/The Site Book) and nothing else. It cannot read, move or delete anything else in your Dropbox.
It never replaces a file. An export only ever adds. If two documents would share a name, such as two toolbox talks, Dropbox keeps both.
Approvals still apply. If your account uses named document approvals, a document whose latest version has not been approved is left out of the export, and the export tells you how many were held back. Draft previews never leave The Site Book.
Only an owner or admin of the company can export, and disconnecting is one click in Settings → Integrations.
How to connect Dropbox
In The Site Book, open Settings → Integrations and click Connect Dropbox on the Dropbox card.
Sign in to Dropbox and approve access to The Site Book's app folder.
Back on the Dropbox card, click Attach my saved credential to link it to your company. This creates your company's folder in Dropbox.
Open a project and click Export to Dropbox in the Export & share card.
From there, share the project folder from Dropbox exactly as you would any other folder.
Handing a pack to a principal contractor
The most common reason to export is a handover. A principal contractor asks for your RAMS and COSHH assessments before you start, or a client wants the current Construction Phase Plan on file. Instead of downloading each PDF, renaming it and attaching it to an email, export the project and share its Dropbox folder.
Because every job has its own folder, the link you send only ever shows that job's documents. When you revise the RAMS after a site visit, run the export again and the new version appears in the same folder, so the person you shared it with sees it without you sending anything else. If they need the old version for their records, it is still there beside the new one.
Your workers' sign-offs stay where they belong, in The Site Book, against the exact document version each worker signed. The Dropbox folder is a filing copy for the office and for whoever you choose to share it with, not a replacement for the signed record.
Google Drive or Dropbox?
Use whichever your office already runs on. The two exports behave the same way: the same documents, a folder per company and a subfolder per project, the same approval rules and the same owner-or-admin permission. Some firms connect both, for example Dropbox for their own filing and Google Drive for a client who works in Google Workspace.
The one practical difference is access. The Google Drive connection works with the files and folders it creates, and the Dropbox connection is limited to its own app folder. Neither can see the rest of your files.
Which plans include it
Dropbox is included on Pro and above, alongside Google Drive, Xero and Zapier. If you already export to Google Drive, nothing changes: both integrations work the same way, and you can use whichever your office runs on. The integrations page has the full list, and the Help Centre guide walks through every step.

Which documents does the Dropbox export send?
The latest generated version of each RAMS, Construction Phase Plan and COSHH assessment on the project. Draft previews are never exported, and if your account uses named document approvals, a document whose latest version has not been approved is left out and counted in the export message.
Can The Site Book see the rest of my Dropbox?
No. The integration asks Dropbox for access to its own app folder only, normally Apps/The Site Book. It cannot read, move or delete anything else in your Dropbox, and an export never replaces an existing file.
Which plan includes the Dropbox integration?
Pro and above, alongside Google Drive, Xero and Zapier. Only an owner or admin of the company that owns the project can export, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings → Integrations.
Does it sync automatically?
No, it is an on-demand export. Click Export to Dropbox on a project whenever you want to send the latest documents. Unchanged documents are not copied twice, and newer versions arrive as their own files.
