Use the free CDM role finder

Available on all plans

The CDM role finder asks four questions about your project and shows which CDM 2015 duty-holder roles you hold, with the main duties of each. It's free and you don't need an account. You can also find it on the free tools page.

Find your role

  1. Open the CDM role finder from the free tools page

  2. Answer Who is the work for? and How many contractors will work on the project?

  3. Answer Are you designing anything? and Are you doing the building work?

  4. If there is more than one contractor, answer the principal designer or principal contractor question

It only appears when it applies to your answers.

  5. Read your role under Your CDM 2015 role on these answers, then the duties below it

Each duty links to its regulation on legislation.gov.uk. Click Start again to clear your answers.
